As it turned out, the weather on our wedding day
was not all
that we had hoped for, and our plans to get married at Spanish
Banks beach went down the drain, just like all the rain that fell on
the
morning of our wedding day. But we did not mind, we had a great
backup location in hand, so at noon on the day we gave up hoping
that the weather would clear and switched our wedding ceremony
to Coal Harbour Community Centre.

these locations are.)
However, by 3 o'clock the weather finally did clear, and as Glenn and
the
groom's party arrived at Coal Harbour at 3:25pm, another last minute
decision was made, and we moved the ceremony outside onto the
Seawall. So when Theresa arrived at about 3:40pm, everything was
perfect. We had the Coal Harbour marina and Stanley Park as our
backdrop, the sound of gulls (and one sea plane) in our ears, and lots
of fresh sea air as we took our wedding vows.

After the ceremony, we all drove Naomi crazy while she tried taking
photos of the wedding party and families. The dark, cloudy weather
didn't help... Obviously Naomi had been praying a little too hard for
a few clouds to soften the late afternoon light!
Our photos were taken at Cathedral Place in Downtown Vancouver,
Dr. Sun Yat Sen Park in Chinatown, at Joe's Cafe on Commercial
Drive, and at our home. In addition, photos were also taken at home
prior to the ceremony.

Of course, everyone, was wanting to find out where we were going
on
our honeymoon. Obviously we managed to keep it sufficiently secret,
as
we managed to enjoy two very pleasant, uninterrupted days of relaxation.
For our two day honeymoon-ito (little honeymoon - we are planning for
three weeks in Cuba later in the year) we stayed at the Delta Pinnacle
Hotel in downtown Vancouver. This was a fantastic place to stay, and
we had the best room in the house (3119), with views stretching
all the
way from English Bay to Second Narrows Bridge. |
