Our News > September--October

From late-August onwards, we were really busy working on our house again - the first major work we had done in two years. We were planning to get the house painted, so we had colours to choose, lots or major and minor projects to get finished before the painters arrived, and a few long overdue repairs to be done. The photos below show us working on our colour choices while repairing the back porch, and Glenn digging to find a leaky pipe! (He almost found Australia before finding the pipe!)

By late September, we had everything finished and ready for the painters, and Glenn was able to take off with work for a 10 day trip to California, followed by Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada. Even while he was away, each day we watched the weather and waited for the painters to arrive. Eventually, they did...

It took about a week for the job to be done - not helped by some extremely humid weather that resulted in four hour paint taking two days to dry! Once the painting was done, Glenn finished the facelift by installing new guttering, and then we were finished - looking a thousand percent better than we had ever seen the house before!!!
