Well, our backyard was never pretty to start with, but the garage project left it an absolute disaster! At last, in the Fall of 2004, it was time to say farewell to our very uneven "back 40", our ugly chain-link fences, and our dodgy retaining walls, and really spruce up the back yard...

Given the huge amount of earthwork involved, and the skilled precision required for retaining wall construction, we decided to hire the pros for most of this job.

The first casualty was our sickly old apple tree...

Followed by our front retaining wall...

Preparing for the side retaining wall...

It may have been a mess before, but it's a real mess now...

Starting to take shape...

But we just couldn't let the pros do all the work...

   

Once the grass arrives, it is really starting to come together...

With the landscapers gone, it is time to get the garage painted and start work on our new fence...
